Emmanuelle Hertel received her Bachelor’s degree in English from the
University of Victoria in 2005 and has since built a career as a freelance copy editor and proofreader, establishing her own company, [sic]Editing, and working with clients both locally and abroad. In 2009, she enrolled at the Art Institute of California - San Francisco to pursue her dream of studying Fashion Design, and quickly flew to the top of her class, earning a GPA of 4.0. In addition to achieving academic excellence, Emmanuelle was the recipient of the Best Construction award at her student fashion show, StyleWOW, as well as the recipient of the Best Portfolio award for Fashion Design at her graduation portfolio show. In 2013 she received her Associate's degree in Fashion Design.
A proficient designer, constructor, patternmaker and grader,
Emmanuelle holds special knowledge of illustration and hand-drawn flats as well as technical drawing and flat design using Adobe
software. She also has working knowledge of computerized
patternmaking and grading using Gerber technology.
Emmanuelle hopes to open a boutique in her hometown of Victoria, BC, offering apparel that will make women feel beautiful, confident and comfortable as soon as they slip into one of her designs.
